Oman will take on the United States of America in the ICC Super League 2 at Al Amerat Cricket Ground, on Monday, 20 September. With 10 victories and three defeats, Oman is at the top of the points table. The USA are just below them, having won seven out of 15 matches they have played so far.
Oman succumbed to their third defeat of the campaign in their last match, against Nepal. They were skittled out for 121 and Nepal chased it down in 18.2 overs. Jatinder Singh hasn't scored anything substantial after a century against the same opponent last week.
They ended up losing six batters for just 43. Had it not been for Zeeshan Maqsood's 41, Oman would not have reached even 100 runs. Maqsood has been their most consistent player, and has constantly delivered with both bat and ball.
The USA, meanwhile, defeated Nepal by six wickets in their last game. They chased down 175 in 29.3 overs. Saurabh Netravalkar claimed a four-for, and Kyle Phillip took three wickets to bowl out Nepal for 178.
Steven Taylor then slammed 92, and 30-odd runs from Monank Patel and Jaskaran Malhotra, helped them mow down the total with ease. Karima Gore and Sanjay Krishnamurthi got out without opening their accounts.
