Afghanistan and Australia will be up against each other in the third-place match of ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Australia lost the semi-final against India by 96 runs. They were bowled out for 194 in 41.5 overs while chasing 291. Lachlan Shaw's 51 was the highest score of the innings. They struggled against the Indian spinners, and will face a similar challenge against Afghanistan's spin attack.

A lot depends on Teague Wyllie, their leading run-scorer, if Australia want to secure third place. Among bowlers, Tom Whitney leaked 74 runs in the last game, but William Salzmann and Jack Nisbet took two wickets apiece.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, fell agonisingly short of reaching their first-ever final. They were in it with two overs left before collapsing, eventually losing the semi-final against England by 15 runs. Allah Noor top-scored with 60, and Abdul Hadi and Bilal Ahmad chipped in with valuable contributions.
