Afghanistan stormed into ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 semi-finals with a four-run win against Sri Lanka in the fourth Super League quarter-final in Coolidge. Despite being bowled out for 134 in 47.1 overs, they knocked over Sri Lanka for 130 in 46 overs.

Vinuja Ranpul was the standout Sri Lanka bowler, returning impressive figures of 9.1-3-10-5, while Dunith Wellalage took 3-36. Abdul Hadi (37), Allah Noor (25), and Noor Ahmad (30) were the only Afghanistan batters who crossed 13. They slipped from 132/6 to 134 all out in no time.

In reply, Sri Lanka were left reeling at 30/5, and then 43/7. Wellalage (34) and Raveen de Silva (21) kept them in the hunt, adding 69 for the eighth wicket before the former fell to Nangeyalia Kharote in the 41st over. Raveen departed soon after, and they were eventually closed on 130.

No Afghan bowler conceded over three and a half an over, with all five took at least a wicket. Noor Ahmad impressed the most, returning 1-20 in 10 overs.
