South Africa 223/9 in 50 overs (Laura Wolvaardt 75; Fatima Sana 3-43) beat Pakistan 217 in 49.5 overs (Omaima Sohail 65; Shabnim Ismail 3-41) by 6 runs. Player of the Match: Shabnim Ismail.

South Africa won a second consecutive match at the ICC Women's World Cup. They beat Pakistan by 7 runs at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Chasing 224, Pakistan were bowled out for 217.

Shabnim Ismail got Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof with consecutive balls in the seventh over. Omaima Sohail (65) then joined Nahida Khan (40), and the pair batted together for close to 20 overs to bring their team back in the game. Nida Dar also scored 55 before getting run out. 

Despite a late surge from Diana Baig, however, Pakistan fell short. For South Africa, Ismail claimed three wickets, while Marizanne Kapp and Ayabonga Khaka claimed two wickets each.

Earlier, Laura Wolvaardt (75) and Sune Luus (62) propelled South Africa to 223/9. Chloe Tryon (31) and Trisha Chetty (31) too chipped in with vital contributions.
