Australia climbed to the top of the points table after defeating New Zealand by 141 runs at Basin Reserve in Wellington. This was the third consecutive victory for Meg Lanning's side. They set a target of 270 and bowled out New Zealand for 128.

Ellyse Perry's 68 steadied the Australian innings after they lost three wickets for just 56. Perry added 57 with with Beth Mooney (30) for the fifth wicket before the latter was bowled by Amelia Kerr. Tahlia McGrath scored 57, while Ash Gardner slammed an 18-ball 48, with four sixes and four fours, to propel Australia to 269.

Perry then bowled Sophie Devine to draw first blood for her team. In the next six overs, New Zealand lost three more wickets to slip to 30/4. Amelia Kerr, Maddy Green, and Frances Mackay failed to reach reach double digits. In the end, they were skittled out for 128 in just 30.2 overs.

Darcie Brown (3-22) was the pick of the Australian bowlers, while Amanda-Jade Wellington and Gardner claimed two wickets each.
