ICC Women’s T20 World Cup: Significant batting records

Win the seventh edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled to begin in a couple of days let’s have a look at the most impressive batting records in the history of the tournament so far.

Suzie Bates from New Zealand has been a consistent performer in all editions of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. She is the highest run getter with 800 runs at an average of 33.88 to her name. She is followed by some legendary names of the game in the top five and all of them have accumulated more than 700 runs each.

When it comes to best batting average, Suzie Bates is the fifth name on the table. Mithali Raj is here leading the chart with 726 runs at 40.33 average. Mithali is the only one in the table to have 40+ batting average.

Chloe Tryon has the most impressive batting strike rate with player like Deandra Dottin following her at third place.

Deandra Dottin has smashed the most sixes in the history of the tournament so far while another West Indian Stafanie Taylor is ranked at fourth position.

Stafanie Taylor and Suzie Bates have the most number of fifty plus scores which is six. On the other hand, the other three batters of the top five list have five fifty plus scores.

Meg Lanning hit the highest individual score of the tournament across all editions. She scored 126 against Ireland in the 2014 edition of the World T20. Two top scores of the tournament were hit against Pakistan and both in the 2014 edition. Dane van Niekerk (90*) and Suzie Bates (94*) thus made it to the top five best innings list.
