India leave Rodrigues, Pandey out of Women's World Cup squad Image

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series and T20I in New Zealand and the ICC Women's World Cup. 

There was no place for Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey. In her last five ODIs, Rodrigues managed 22 runs without touching the double-digit for once. She was in the squad for the series against Australia but did not get a single ODI. 

Yastika Bhatia retained her place instead, after doing well in the last two ODIs against Australia. She scored 64 in 69 balls in her last match, and forged a 101-run stand with Shafali Verma to help India end Australia's world record streak of 26 ODI wins.

S. Meghana and Simran Dil Bahadur has been selected for the solitary T20I in New Zealand. They, along with Ekta Bisht, are the three reserve players for the event. 

India squad (New Zealand ODIs and Women's World Cup 2022): Mithali Raj (c), Harmanpreet Kaur (vc), Richa Ghosh (wk), Taniya Bhatia (wk), Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Jhulan Goswami, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Renuka Singh Thakur, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav.

Standby Players: S. Meghna, Ekta Bisht, Simran Dil Bahadur.
