India defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets in the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup, with standout performances from Vaishanvi Sharma and G Trisha.

In a decisive performance, India emerged victorious over Bangladesh by eight wickets in the Super Six stage of the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup held in Kuala Lumpur. This triumph secures India's place in the semi-finals alongside Australia from Group 1 and South Africa from Group 2. In Group 2, England and Nigeria are engaged in a contest for the final semi-final berth, while the matchup between Sri Lanka and Scotland was unfortunately called off due to inclement weather, resulting in both teams sharing the points.

India's bowling attack was spearheaded by left-arm spinner Vaishanvi Sharma, whose impressive figures of three wickets for just 15 runs limited Bangladesh to a mere 64 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. India successfully achieved the target in just 7.1 overs, showcasing their dominance throughout the match.

The clash began with a delay caused by rain, leading to Bangladesh being asked to bat first. From the onset, the Indian bowlers put significant pressure on the Bangladeshi side, resulting in the early dismissal of opener Mosammat Eva, who fell to the third ball of the innings. This precarious start set the tone for Bangladesh, who struggled against the Indian bowling, quickly finding themselves in precarious territory at 23 for 5 by the end of the tenth over.

Sumaiya Akter, the captain of Bangladesh, emerged as the team's top scorer, managing to contribute 21 runs off 29 balls from the number seven position. However, her efforts were insufficient in the face of an aggressive Indian bowling lineup. Vaishanvi Sharma's outstanding spell included two of her three wickets being taken in the 17th over, while Trisha, Shabnam Shakil, and VJ Joshitha chipped in with one wicket each. This remarkable performance by Sharma has positioned her as a joint-leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with a total of nine wickets to her name.

In pursuit of the modest target of 65 runs, India wasted no time establishing control over the chase. G Trisha led the innings with an explosive knock of 40 runs, striking eight boundaries before her dismissal in the seventh over. The stability was further solidified by the contributions of Captain Niki Prasad and Sanika Chalke, who guided India to victory with 77 balls to spare.

The performance of the Indian Team in this match not only reflects their skill and strategy but also highlights their determination as they move further into the tournament. As they prepare for the semi-finals, India is showing signs of becoming a formidable force in the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup. With players like Vaishanvi Sharma leading the bowling attack and G Trisha making significant contributions with the bat, India's prospects are looking brighter in their quest for the championship title.
