2 fast bowlers have now played 100 Test matches for India. Kapil Dev, who also scored over 5,000 Test runs, was the first. Ishant Sharma joined the list. Just like Kapil, Ishant, too, took the first wicket of the match.

2 Indian bowlers have taken a five-wicket haul in each of their first two Test matches. Axar (2-40 and 5-60; 6-38) joins Mohammad Nissar (5-93 and 1-42; 5-90 and 0-25) and Narendra Hirwani (8-61 and 8-75; 2-62 and 6-59).

3 Indian batsmen have now scored 1,000 runs against England at home. Virat Kohli (1,015) joined Sunil Gavaskar (1,331) and Gundappa Viswanath (1,022). Cheteshwar Pujara has 955.

9 wickets fell to spinners in the England innings (Axar 6-38, Ashwin 3-26). This is a new record in Day-Night Test matches. The previous record was 8, by West Indies against Pakistan in the third innings at Dubai in 2017/18. Devendra Bishoo claimed 8-49, but the other two wickets went to seamers.

1,735 runs for Joe Root against India. Only Alastair Cook (2,431) has more. Root went past Graham Gooch (1,725) to secure second place.
