During their four-day practise match, which starts here on Thursday, four Indian cricketers—Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna—will represent Leicestershire under county captain Sam Evans.

All members of India's touring group will receive appropriate match practise thanks to the specific pre-match agreement made by the BCCI, ECB, and the Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC).

In order to increase flexibility and control bowling workloads, the game will be played with 13 players on each side.

"For tomorrow's four-day tour match at Uptonsteel County Ground, Leicestershire CCC will welcome members of the India touring group into their team. The Leicestershire team, led by opening batsman Sam Evans, will be joined by Indian greats Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna. In order to allow all members of the travelling group to participate in the match (subject to fitness), the LCCC, BCCI, and the ECB have all agreed to permit the four players from the visiting camp to be a part of the Running Foxes team "In a statement, the LCCC added.

Other members of the LCCC include Rehan Ahmed, Sam Bates (wk), Nat Bowley, Will Davis, Joey Evison, Louis Kimber, Abi Sakande, and Roman Walker in addition to Evans, Pujara, Pant, Bumrah, and Prasidh.

Before the postponed fifth game of the series from last year, the July 1–5 Edgbaston Test against England, it will be the lone warm-up game for the Indian squad. India is up 2-1 in the series.

At the Uptonsteel County Ground in Leicester on Wednesday, players including the captain Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Hanuma Vihari, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shardul Thakur worked out for more than two hours.

According to a Cricbuzz report, R Ashwin is in route to England after missing his flight earlier because of a positive Covid test result.

The net bowlers for the tour have been selected by India as Navdeep Saini, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Simarjeet Singh. While Singh's departure is thought to have been delayed, the first two names are already with the squad.
