Most Runs/Orange Cap

Sanju Samson closed the gap between him and Shikhar Dhawan in the runs chart with a 15-ball 19 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 43 of the IPL 2021 in Dubai. Samson has now aggregated 452 runs at a strike rate of 141, just two behind Dhawan, who retained the Orange Cap. K.L. Rahul (422), Faf du Plessis (394), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (362) occupy the next three places.  

Bangalore’s Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell have also moved up in this tally. Maxwell struck an unbeaten 30-ball 50, and is currently sitting at sixth place, with 350 runs, while Kohli is tied with Mayank Agarwal at ninth. Both have scored 332 runs so far this season.

Most Wickets/Purple Cap

After picking up three wickets in the final over against Rajasthan, Harshal Patel strengthened his place at the top of the wickets list. He has now bagged 26 wickets, and now six wickets away from Dwayne Bravo’s record of most wickets in a single IPL season. Bravo achieved the feat in 2013 for Chennai Super Kings.

Chris Morris, now at fifth place, returned 0-50 against Bangalore. Avesh Khan (18), Jasprit Bumrah (16), and Mohammed Shami (14) are between Harshal and Morris.
