The International League T20 (ILT20) is reinforcing its commitment to promoting cricket worldwide, particularly among associate members, with the organization of the Continent Cup T20 Africa in Kenya. This six-nation tournament will take place at the Nairobi Gymkhana from June 9, featuring teams from Kenya, Botswana, Rwanda, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Uganda. The grand finale is scheduled for June 23.

Mubashshir Usmani, spokesperson for the International League T20, expressed the organization's dedication to fostering the sport's growth beyond the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Recognizing the immense passion for cricket in Africa, ILT20 aims to provide the necessary encouragement and support to help these nations establish themselves on the global cricketing stage.

"The Continent Cup T20 Africa will showcase teams that are eager to make their mark at the international level," said Usmani. "Kenya, in particular, was a formidable force in the past, and the cricketing world is eager to witness their resurgence as a potent team. While we focus on the growth of our own tournament and UAE men's and women's cricket, we will continue to support similar initiatives worldwide."

The Continent Cup T20 Africa presents a significant opportunity for the participating teams to gain exposure and experience in competitive cricket. As cricket continues to expand its reach, ILT20 is actively supporting initiatives that promote the sport's development, nurturing talent and providing platforms for associate members to showcase their skills on a global stage.

With the Continent Cup T20 Africa set to kick off in Kenya, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing thrilling encounters between these aspiring teams. The tournament not only serves as a stepping stone for the participating nations but also highlights ILT20's dedication to the growth and advancement of cricket beyond its home base in the UAE.
