Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore look to seal qualification as they head into Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second-last round of fixtures this IPL season. In what could be one of the most crucial games of the tournament in Sharjah, Sunrisers Hyderabad will tussle it out to remain relevant while Bangalore are on the brink of qualifying.

In the points table, Royal Challengers Bangalore are still in the top three with 14 points, and they were benefitted by Delhi’s loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad. A win will make sure Bangalore’s qualification for the play-offs. Hyderabad on the other hand are hanging by a thread, but they do have a decent chance to make the table more complicated if they can beat Bangalore at Sharjah.

Team news and predicted XI

RCB are expected to change a bit for this game with Dale Steyn likely to sit out for Moeen Ali or Isuru Udana. If Josh Philippe is still in, he might be keeping to relieve AB de Villiers of his back stress.

SRH, on the other hand, might go in with a change on the bowling front with Siddharth Kaul a possibility to return for Khaleel Ahmed. They might also look at Mohammad Nabi or Billy Stanlake for Jason Holder. They also have a forced change in Saha who is injured.

Predicted XIs

Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Manish Pandey, Abdul Samad, Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, T Natarajan, Jason Holder

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Virat Kohli, Josh Philippe, Devdutt Padikkal, AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali, Washington Sundar, Gurkeerat Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini, Mohammad Siraj

Fantasy tips

  • While Virat Kohli is a decent pick, it is safer to not captain him for this game. Kane Williamson is a good choice as captain, especially if you are joining grand leagues.
  • However, if you bank on de Villiers, there might be no room for Williamson. You could swap the two based on who bats first (AB if RCB are batting first).
  • Rashid Khan, AB de Villiers, David Warner, Virat Kohli are must picks.
  • Morris and Chahal are good picks especially with the two picking wickets regularly.
  • Sunrisers batsmen are brutal on spinners and leaving Sundar out may not be a bad idea, but if you want to squeeze in some low point personnel, use Sundar rather than Khaleel.
