Mumbai Indians (MI) registered their second consecutive win of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 after pulling off another heist against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a low-scoring contest. For Hyderabad, this was their third defeat of this campaign in as many matches.

Kieron Pollard’s blitzkrieg in the death overs propelled Mumbai to a respectable total of 150/4. While Rohit Sharma (32 in 25 balls) and Quinton de Kock (40 in 39) added 55 runs for the first wicket, the rest of the batters failed to put up anything substantial.

Hyderabad were off to a rollicking start, scoring 58 runs in the Powerplay. But for the third time in three matches, they messed up in the middle. Except for the opening pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, the batters did not step up to the occasion.

Orange Cap

Bairstow’s 22-ball 43 went in vain, but he has climbed to third place on the runs chart. Suryakumar Yadav could not make an impact. He scored 10 off 6 balls before chipping one back to Vijay Shankar. He is placed at the sixth position in the table. Manish Pandey retained his place, while Warner broke in as well.
