Delhi Capitals registered their seventh win of the season and also regained their top spot in the points table. They beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets. Batting first, Hyderabad could muster only 134/9 in 20 overs. Abdul Samad (28) and Rashid Khan (22) were the only two players to cross the 20-run mark. Anrich Nortje returned impressive figures of 4-0-12-2.

Delhi then rode on a comprehensive performance from their top order to mow down the total in 17.5 overs. Shikhar Dhawan made 42 in 37 balls, Shreyas Iyer 47 not out in his comeback match, and Rishabh Pant scored 35 in 21 balls.

Delhi are followed by Chennai Super Kings, who have played a match fewer than Delhi. Chennai have 12 points from eight games. With five wins, Royal Challengers Bangalore are at third place, while Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals have eight points each, though Mumbai are fourth position due to a higher net run rate.
