Let us have a look at how each of the Irish players fared in the three-match ODI series against South Africa.

Andrew Balbirnie 7.5 (M 3, R 174, Ave 58, SR 83)

Balbirnie’s excellent 102 guided Ireland to register their maiden victory over South Africa in the second match. He also made 65 in the first match, but failed to carry the momentum forward in the third.

Josh Little 7 (M 3, W 4, Ave 24.5, ER 5.15)

Another impressive series for Little, who bowled accurately for four wickets. However, he did not get much support from his teammates.

Simi Singh 6.5 (M 3, R 100, Ave -, W 2, Ave 48.33, ER 5.33)

In the third match, Simi became the first to score an ODI hundred from No. 8, but he did not get much support to take Ireland past the finishing line. He did not get many wickets, but did bowl well.

Harry Tector 6 (M 3, R 133, Ave 44.33, SR 102, C 3)

Tector aggregated 133 at 102. He hit six fours and four sixes in his 68-ball 79 in the second match.

William Porterfield 5 (M 1, R 63, Ave 63, SR 72)

Porterfield looked solid in the first match but did not feature in the next two due to a finger injury.

Curtis Campher 5 (M 2, R 54, Ave 54, SR 100)

Campher scored a valiant run-a-ball 54 in his only innings, in the third match.

George Dockrell 4.5 (M 3, R 61, Ave 30.5, SR 115, W 1, Ave 73, ER 7.30)

Dockrell made 23-ball 45 in the second match. He bowled 10 overs and conceded 73 for a solitary wicket.

Mark Adair 4 (M 3, R 32, Ave 32, SR 12, W 2, Ave 58.5, ER 6.68)

Adair played a breezy cameo in the opening match. He was expensive in his 17.3 overs for two wickets.

Andy McBrine 3 (M 3, W 2, Ave 50, ER 5.88)

By returning 2-100 at 5.88, McBrine made a little impact in the ODis.

Craig Young 3 (M 3, W 2, Ave 47.5, ER 5.58)

Young bowled wayward in the third match, but was impressive in the second.

Paul Stirling 2 (M 3, R 51, Ave 17, SR 53)

A rare quiet series for Stirling, who is a much better batter than those numbers suggest.

Lorcan Tucker 1 (M 3, R 1, C 2)

Tucker finally got a chance to bat in the third match but only lasted for eight balls. He held two catches behind the stumps.
