Let us have a look at how the South African players fared in the three-match T20I series against Ireland.
David Miller 9 (M 3, R 139, Ave 139, SR 170)
A much-needed series for Miller, who answered his critics with 139 runs at a staggering strike rate of 170 despite being dismissed only once in three innings. He was deservingly adjudged the Player of the Series.
Tabraiz Shamsi 8.5 (M 2, W 7, Ave 5.85, Ec 5.12)
Shamsi again proved why he is the top-ranked T20I bowler. Despite not featuring in the third match, he got seven scalps at an economy rate of 5.12 and finished as the top wicket-taker.
Temba Bavuma 6.5 (M 3, R 85, SR 129)
Bavuma hit a matured 51-ball 72 in the third match, but had run-a-ball 13 and a two-ball duck before that.
George Linde 5.5 (M 2, W 4, Ave 11.75, Ec 5.87)
Linde featured in two games, and returned 4-47 at 5.87.
Lungi Ngidi 5.5 (M 2, W 3, Ave 10.66, Ec 4.26)
An excellent outing for Ngidi, taking three wickets at an impressive 4.26 in the opening two matches before being rested in the third.
Quinton de Kock 5 (M 2, R 47, SR 162, C 3, St 2)
De Kock scored two quickfire 20s in the opening two matches, but was rested for Reeza Hendricks in the third. He held three catches behind the stumps and also stumped twice.
Aiden Markram 5 (M 3, R 47, SR 131, W 1, Ec 8.50)
Markram looked solid in the opening match but was not at this best in the second, and was not needed to bat in the third. He also got a wicket.
Reeza Hendricks 5 (M 1, R 69, SR 144)
Hendricks contributed with a 48-ball 69 in a 127-run opening-wicket stand with Bavuma in the third match.
Bjorn Fortuin 5 (M 2, W 3, Ec 5.12)
With 3-16 in four overs including a maiden, Fortuin was South Africa’s best bowler in the second match. He also bowled accurately in the third, but got no success.
Wiaan Mulder 5 (M 2, W 2, Ec 8.50, R 36, SR 138)
Mulder batted well in the second match, and returned 2-10 in his two overs in the third.
Beuran Hendricks 4 (M 2, W 2, Ec 7.75)
Beuran replaced Rabada for the last two matches. He impressed in the second match, with 2-28.
Lizaad Williams 4 (M 2, W 2, Ec 7.62)
Williams did not taste success in the first match. He got two wickets in his next, conceding 30.
Rassie van der Dussen 3 (M 2, R 31, SR 94)
Van der Dussen looked ominous in the opening match, but struggled during his 15-ball stay in the second. Heinrich Klaasen filled in for him in the third.
Kagiso Rabada 3 (M 1, W 1, Ec 7, R 19, SR 211)
Rabada played a breezy cameo in his only match, and took 1-28 after bowling four overs.
Andile Phehlukwayo 2 (M 2, W 1, Ec 7.50)
Phehlukwayo bowled two overs in his only match and got a solitary wicket.
Heinrich Klaasen 2 (M 1, R 7, SR 140, C 2)
Klassen took over the gloves from de Kock in the third match. He was unbeaten on seven, and also held two catches.
Janneman Malan 1 (M 2, R 4, SR 57)
Malan failed to carry the ODIs momentum going forward before losing his place in the third match.
