Aaron Phangiso, left-arm spinner for the Joburg Super Kings, underwent an ICC-accredited bowling action test on January 27 at the University of Pretoria. The test, which was conducted by ICC accredited practitioner Helen Bayne, confirmed that Phangiso bowled with a non-compliant action, as determined by the SA20 independent bowling action panel.
Phangiso's suspension from bowling in the SA20 continues.
Phangiso will undergo rehabilitation on his bowling action, and once the rehabilitation work is completed, the independent panel will determine the process for re-testing the action.
Joburg Super Kings have requested permission to replace Phangiso with Kyle Simmonds for the remainder of the SA20 2023 season, which will take effect immediately.
