Dambulla Giants beat Kandy Warriors by 20 runs in Match 2 of the Lanka Premier League 2021 in Colombo. They piled 190/7 after opting to bat and the Warriors closed on 170/8 in reply.

Phil Salt was adjudged Player of the Match for his 27-ball 64, which included five sixes and four fours. Rovman Powell scored a 21-ball 42, but received little support from his Warriors teammates. Ramesh Mendis and Nuwan Pradeep took three wickets apiece.

Colombo Stars v Galle Gladiators

Galle Gladiators 116/8 in 20 overs (Dunk 38; Dhananjaya 2-18) lost to Colombo Stars 117/6 in 17.3 overs (Chandimal 26*; Thushara 2-26) by 4 wickets with 15 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Dhananjaya de Silva.

In Match 3, Colombo Stars beat Galle Gladiators easily by four wickets. They restricted the Gladiators to 116/8, courtesy Dhananjaya de Silva’s 2-18 and Akila Dananjaya’s 2-19, and saw off the target with 15 balls to spare.

For the Stars, Dinesh Chandimal remained unbeaten on 26, while David Wiese scored 16-ball 22. Mohammad Hafeez returned 1-15 in his three overs, and Noor Ahmad 1-22.
