Bangladesh finally managed to snap their winless streak of eight T20Is. They beat Afghanistan by 61 runs at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Liton Das' fifty propelled them to 155/8 before Nasum Ahmed ran through the top order to bowl Afghanstan out for just 94.

Bangladesh lost both openers inside five overs after opting to bat. Mohammad Naim was pinned leg-before by Fazalhaq Farooqi on 17, while Munim Shahriar got out on 2 on T20I debut. Qais Ahmed then dismissed Shakib Al Hasan (5) to reduce Bangladesh to 47/3.

Das continued to impress, and forged a 46-run stand with Afif Hossain. He struck four fours and two sixes in his 44-ball 66 before hitting to Azmatullah Omarzai in the 17th over. After he fell, Bangladesh could only add 19 to finish on 155/8.

However, they were instantly rewarded for their decision to open the attack with Nasum Ahmed, who got Rahmanullah Gurbaz with the fourth ball. In the next two overs, he claimed three more wickets to leave Afghanistan reeling at 20/4. Barring Najibullah Zadran (27), no Afghan batter scored more than 20 as the tourists got bowled out for 94.

Other than Nasum (4-10), Shoridul Islam claimed three wickets, and Shakib took two.
