In a thrilling match-up, Sunrisers Eastern Cape registered their second consecutive win in the ongoing SA20 competition with a two-wicket victory over table-toppers MI Cape Town. Left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder Marco Jansen led the charge for his team, scoring 66 off just 27 balls and hitting seven sixes and three fours.
Chasing 172 runs, Jansen came in to bat when his team needed 81 runs in less than eight overs. He launched a fiery counterattack, including 28 runs in the 16th over off MI Cape Town skipper and world-renowned leg-spinner Rashid Khan. Jansen's performance was praised by former India left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who called it one of the best innings he has ever witnessed.
Jansen's batting exploits have been gaining attention in the SA20 competition, as he has established himself as a reliable bowler in international cricket. "At that stage, we had to make a plan, we had to pick one bowler. After the first ball went for six, I just decided to see what happens and try and go with it," Jansen said after the match.
In other news, commentator and former India and Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina revealed that former Indian captain M.S Dhoni is aware that fans call the Decision Review System (DRS) as the "Dhoni Review System." Raina stated that Dhoni always takes the review at the last second because the bowler always thinks that it is out, but it is Dhoni, who, from behind the stumps has a clearer vision of all three stumps and can take a better call. Fellow commentator Pragyan Ojha cheekily responded, "I feel the umpire checks as well if Dhoni has appealed for the wicket or not. If Dhoni has appealed, it must be out."
