A second broadcast crew member of the ongoing second Ashes Test match between Australia and England, taking place at the Adelaide Oval, tested positive for Covid-19. Their colleagues, Glenn McGrath and Isa Guha, subsequently pulled out off media duties.

Earlier, a member of the BBC Test Match Special team returned a positive for the virus, while the confirmation of a second positive case came on 19 December.

The Adelaide Oval management confirmed the development in a statement: ‘We have been made aware of a second member of the visiting media who has returned a positive COVID result as a part of the scheduled day six testing. We are undertaking a clean of the relevant media area in-line with our protocols’.

Both BBC and ABC broadcasters have been advised against coming to the ground. However, Guha was later given an all-clear to return to her duties after returning a negative test for the virus.

Covid-19 close contacts in South Australia must isolate for seven days, while the positive cases are required to isolate for 14 days.
