Eoin Morgan called the toss and correctly and decided to bat first. Adam Rossington and Joe Denly started cautiously, adding 49 in 39 balls for the opening wicket. Rossington made 28 off 20, while Denly got a run-a-ball 35.
Eoin Morgan played a whirlwind knock of 41, leaving the Spirit on 112 in 74 balls. Roelof van der Merwe’s quickfire 20 propelled them to 146 in 100 balls.
