With his 34-ball 39 against Australia in the semi-final, Babar Azam moved to the top of the runs chart in the Men's T20 World Cup 2021. He finished the tournament with 303 at a strike rate of 126. Mohammad Rizwan (281 at 128), meanwhile, climbed to second place following his 52-ball 67. 

Riding on his 30-ball 49, David Warner (236 at 148) jumped to fourth place, behind Jos Buttler (269 at 151).
