With less than a month until the massive tournament in Australia, the International Cricket Council announced on Thursday that the match between India and Pakistan in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup had already sold out.

Tickets for the Super 12 match between India and Pakistan, which will take place in Melbourne on October 23, were snatched up within minutes of being on sale, according to a statement from the International Cricket Council.

For the first time since the Women's T20 World Cup in 2020, which reached its peak with 86,174 spectators for the final at the MCG, fans from 82 countries have purchased tickets to watch the best players from 16 international teams, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC). This marks the return of packed stadiums at ICC events.

The affordable pricing for families, which has seen over 85,000 children's tickets sold, is one of the main factors contributing to this enthusiasm for ticket purchases, according to the ICC. For all First Round and Super 12 matches, tickets for children cost just $5, while prices for adult tickets begin at $20.

The ICC reported that many further games had already sold out for the major event, which begins with qualifications on October 16.

"Additionally, all available tickets have been sold for the October 27 doubleheader at the SCG, which will feature India vs. the Group A runner-up and South Africa vs. Bangladesh. If more tickets become available, fans are advised to sign up for the waitlist "ICC stated.

Fans will be able to exchange tickets at face value on an official resale portal that will be unveiled closer to the event, it was stated.

There aren't many seats left for Australia's Super 12 opener against New Zealand at the SCG on October 22, the doubleheader between Pakistan and the Group A runner-up and India vs. South Africa at Perth Stadium on October 30, and Pakistan vs. South Africa at the SCG on November 3.

Most matches still have tickets available, according to the ICC, who urged fans to act quickly to reserve their seats at t20worldcup.com.

"We are thrilled with the rush of tickets for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup with over 500,000 already being picked up," said Chris Tetley, Head of Events for the ICC. With just over a month left before the World Cup begins, the anticipation is at an all-time high. Fans should make sure they purchase theirs while there are still some tickets available for purchase.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup's CEO, Michelle Enright, was thrilled with how well tickets sold.

The enthusiasm for what will be the biggest sporting event held in Australia this year is evident in the fans' extraordinary response.

"We've also noticed a variety of fandom for various teams across the tournament, which will result in an electrifying atmosphere at our matches with a strong mix of fervent supporters at each site.

"We're very proud of the reasonably priced family tickets we offer, and it's wonderful to see that so many children will attend and experience a World Cup.

There are still some fantastic tickets available, so I'd urge everyone who hasn't reserved a seat to do so immediately for what will be a can't-miss event.
