Mohammad Hafeez breaks bio-security protocols

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been forced into isolation after he breached the social distancing guidelines by posing for a photograph with a 90+ year old woman golfer.

Hafeez allegedly posed for a snap with the woman after the two met at the golf course that adjoins the Ageas Bowl.

The all-rounder has undertaken a Covid-19 test and the result of the test is expected on Thursday. “This morning, Mohammad Hafeez went to a golf course, which is adjacent to the team hotel and part of the bio-secure bubble. During the golf round, he was photographed with a member of the public, which he subsequently posted on his social media account,” the release said.

“The decision to put Hafeez in isolation has been taken for his and the safety and security of everyone around him. The team management believes it was an inadvertent mistake, but a good reminder for everyone on the importance of following the bio-secure protocols, which have been designed for the health and safety of everyone involved in the series. The team management has updated the England and Wales Cricket Board of its decision.”

Hafeez had been one of the few Pakistan players who tested positive for Covid-19 before the tour to UK. While he isn’t a part of the Test side, Hafeez is expected to play the T20Is. Hafeez was allowed to tour the UK with the rest of the squad after he returned two negative tests.
