New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced on Thursday that it will play a three-match T20I series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in August 2023.
The three games will be played under lights on August 17, 19, and 20 as the squad travels to England for limited-overs assignments.
It will be only the second full international match between New Zealand and the UAE, following the 1996 World Cup ODI between the two sides in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White expressed his excitement that the BlackCaps would be playing in the UAE.
"In terms of the global cricket family, it is critical that we continue to support one another and grow the game on a global scale. NZC has a close relationship with the Emirates Cricket Board, and our players are very comfortable in their surroundings "White stated in a press release.
"I know the BlackCaps will be excited to put their skills to the test against a competitive UAE team," he added.
Meanwhile, UAE Cricket Board General Secretary Mubashshir Usmani described New Zealand as one of the world's top T20 sides and believes the series will be a huge opportunity for UAE players.
"This series will be a huge opportunity for our players, not only to compete against a top team, but also to learn from some of the best players in the world," Usmani said.
"We are fully committed to the growth and development of cricket in the UAE, and we appreciate New Zealand Cricket's support," he added.
The New Zealand series, the locations of which have yet to be determined, will be the UAE's second T20I series against a full member at home this year, following last month's matches against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi.
