The New Zealand women's cricket team is set to embark on a tour of Sri Lanka in June-July, where they will compete in three ODIs and three T20Is. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that the New Zealand team will arrive in the island nation on June 23.

The tour kicks off with a three-match ODI series, which falls within the ICC Women's Championship 2022-2025 cycle. This championship serves as a pathway for direct qualification to the Women's ODI World Cup scheduled to take place in India in 2025.

As of now, New Zealand holds the third position in the standings, while Sri Lanka is placed seventh. Ahead of their Sri Lanka tour, the New Zealand players will undergo rigorous training in two camps at NZC's High Performance Centre in Lincoln.

The Galle International Cricket Stadium will host all three ODIs on June 27, 30, and July 3. Following the ODIs, New Zealand will participate in a practice match against the SLC Board President's XI on July 6. The tour will conclude with a three-match T20I series starting on July 8, with all games taking place at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo on July 8, 10, and 12.

The upcoming series against Sri Lanka presents an important opportunity for both teams to gather crucial points in the ICC Women's Championship standings. The New Zealand women's team will be eager to secure victories and strengthen their bid for direct qualification to the Women's ODI World Cup in 2025. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will strive to climb up the rankings and enhance their chances of participating in the prestigious tournament.

Cricket enthusiasts in Sri Lanka can look forward to witnessing exciting encounters between these two talented sides as they compete for supremacy in the limited-overs format.
