The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday confirmed the start of the maiden women's league, which will take place at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi from March 3–18, 2019, in conjunction with the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

"I'm thrilled to let you know about the women's league. When our current players share dugouts with the international players, this competition will help them further develop their talents and draw young female cricket players to this wonderful sport. The league, which consists of 13 matches, will feature current and former women's cricket trailblazers "Ramiz Raja, chairman of the PCB, stated in a formal announcement.

The first women's league final, which will introduce women's T20 franchise cricket, will be a stand-alone contest between the top-two teams after 12 league games and will occur the day before the season eight PSL championship game. Prior to some PSL season eight games, which span from February 9 to March 19, there will be matches in the women's league.

This event is in line with our aim to make Pakistan a better cricket playing nation across all formats and genders, and some of the matches will take place before the HBL Pakistan Super League 8 matchups. Through this competition, we are giving our female players job prospects in addition to building appealing brands to boost our cricket industry, Raja continued.

Four city-based teams, each with 12 local and six international players, will participate in the first women's league in a double-league format for the greatest prize in Pakistani women's domestic competition.

"Our female cricket players will learn more as they compete in increasingly stressful situations. The PCB is a great supporter of giving women more power so they can shine brighter. We will increase the economic and social prosperity of our nation by involving our women, who make up 49% of the population "Raja concluded.
