Australia beat Pakistan by three wickets in the T20I at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. They rode on a fifty from Aaron Finch to chase down 163 with five balls remaining.

After opting to bowl, Australia got Travis Head to bowl the first over. Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan added 67 for the opening wicket. Then Cam Green, in his first over in T20Is, bowled Rizwan for 23, and off the next ball, had Fakhar Zaman caught by Finch.

Nathan Ellis (4-26) then ran through the middle order to restrict Pakistan to 162/8. Babar, meanwhile, carried on from where he left in the ODI series, slamming 66 in 46 balls before falling to Adam Zampa.

Opening batting with Finch, Head did not disappoint. He struck three fours and a six in his 14-ball 21. Josh Inglis then forged a 44-run stand with Finch to set up the base for the chase.

Pakistan did pull back via Usman Qadir, who got Inglis and Marnus Labuschagne in consecutive overs. Marcus Stoinis then slammed five fours in a 9-ball 23 to ensure a win for Australia.

Finch, coming on the back off a series of low scores in the ODIs, finally managed to get something substantial. The target allowed him to take his time, and he responded with 45-ball 55.

Pakistan 162/8 in 20 overs (Babar Azam 66; Nathan Ellis 4-26) lost to Australia 163/7 in 19.1 overs (Aaron Finch 55; Shaheen Afridi 2-21) by 3 wickets with 5 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Aaron Finch.
