Pakistan will host West Indies for the second T20I of the three-match series, at the National Stadium in Karachi, on Tuesday, 14 December. Pakistan won the first T20I by 63 runs, where West Indies were bowled out for 137 in pursuit of 201. Shai Hope's 31 was the highest score of the innings, though Nicholas Pooran looked threatening before he got bowled for 18.
For the West Indies to level the series, their batting unit needs to step up. Hope and Brandon King need to provide them with a steady start. They may also replace Odean Smith with Gudakesh Motie, their only fit cricketer in the reserves. Smith conceded 56 runs from four overs in the first T20I.
Pakistan are unlikely to make any changes to their XI. Haider Ali could not have wished for a better start to his T20I career. He was adjudged as Player of the Match for his 39-ball 68. Mohammad Rizwan's dream run continued, as he struck another fifty after Babar Azam got out for a duck, while Mohammad Wasim Jr picked up four wickets.
