Papua New Guinea will be up against the United States of America in the second ODI of the two-match series at Al Amerat Cricket Ground, on Thursday, 9 September. PNG lost the first game by seven wickets.

The USA, the more balanced of the sides, will be aiming for a clean sweep. They won the first ODI by seven wickets. Steven Taylor and Sushant Modani added 107 for the opening stand. Taylor was at his fluent best, scoring 82 off 55 to take the sting out of the contest.

Modani made 24 in 48 balls, and Monank Patel remained unbeaten on 34. Nisarg Patel took four wickets, while the skipper Saurabh Netravalkar picked two wickets.

PNG, meanwhile, will expect more from their batting unit. None barring Assad Vala, who scored 61, stood up to the occasion. Tony Uran and Lega Siaka are likely to open the innings, while Gaudi Toka may be promoted up the order.
