Tim David, a Singaporean who was raised in Perth, and leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson are both members of Australia's men's team for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

While Adam Zampa rejoins the T20 team following the birth of his son Eugene, Pat Cummins returns to action after missing the ODI Series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand in North Queensland for a period of physical preparation and recuperation.

Leg spinner Mitchell Swepson, who was a member of the team that defeated New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final in Dubai last year, has been left out, leaving prolific hitter Tim David in the lineup.

The team will play three T20 Internationals in India in September before returning home to play matches against the West Indies, England, and India in preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which begins on October 22 against New Zealand at the SCG.

George Bailey, the NSP's chair of selectors, said: "Similar to the side that became the first Australian men's team to win a T20 World Cup, this group is eager to compete in the competition at home.

"Mitchell Swepson was unlucky to lose out because of the circumstances in the UAE during the previous World Cup, where we had anticipated worn-out, spinning wickets as opposed to what we would anticipate are favourable batting conditions and the larger fields in Australia.

Tim (David) has been steadily establishing himself in leagues all across the world, winning a spot in the team. He is a naturally skilled ball striker who will give the group, which has enjoyed great success in T20 cricket, more batting depth.

We anticipate that he will continue to play the same role that he has been in for the past few years.

As a part of a planned period of preparation for a full summer schedule, David Warner will miss the Indian trip. The team for the Indian T20 Series now includes Cameron Green.

"Cameron's improvement in all facets of his game has been impressive and we are excited for him to continue the growth of his all-round T20 cricket through further exposure to the format," Bailey said.

Australia Squad: Aaron Finch (c), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa.
