Lahore Qalandars will host Multan Sultans in the Qualifier of Pakistan Super League 2022 at Gaddafi Stadium.
With nine wins and a defeat, the Sultans finished at the top of the points table. However, their sole defeat came against the Qalandars, against whom they fell 52 runs short. Fakhar Zaman's fifty took the Qalandars to 182/4 that day before Zaman Khan took three wickets to bowl out the Sultans for 130.
The Qalandars will head into the fixture off an agonising loss to Peshawar Zalmi. A late assault from Shaheen Shah Afridi helped them level the score before they lost in the Super Over. Fakhar and Phil Salt form a formidable opening duo for them, while Haris Rauf and Afridi will lead the pace attack.
The Sultans, meanwhile, defeated Islamabad United in their last game. They chased down 106 with six wickets and 16 balls to spare. They have a very strong middle order, in Tim David, Rilee Rossouw, and David Willey. Mohammad Rizwan is their leading run-scorer, while his opening partner Shan Masood has also had a prolific campaign.
