India Women are set to tour Australia in September for a limited-overs series. This is probably in lieu of a three-match ODI series that was scheduled to take place this January but got cancelled due to Covid-19.

In No Balls: The Cricket Podcast, hosted by Kate Cross and Alex Hartley, Megan Schutt revealed the same: ‘We have got a tour against India in mid-September.’

The last time the sides squared off against each other was in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020. Australia clinched the trophy with a comprehensive 85-run victory.

India will be travelling to England next month for a Test, three ODIs and as many T20Is. The Test match starts on 16 June in Bristol. India Women’s last appearance in the longest format of the game came way back in 2014/15, against South Africa.

The tour to England will also mark the beginning of Ramesh Powar’s second stint as head coach. Powar replaced the incumbent WV Raman few days ago.

Further, a series of Indian cricketers are set to take part in the inaugural edition of The Hundred, to be played between 21 July and 21 August. The BCCI has already granted No-Objection Certificates to Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Verma1.
