Regular skipper Chamari Athapaththu will lead the 15-member Sri Lanka squad to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, which will be held in South Africa from February 10-26.
Hasini Perera, who was named to the squad but later ruled out due to a finger injury, will not be available for the Athapaththu-led side. Sathya Sandeepani, whose only appearance for the national team came against India in the 2020 T20 World Cup, has been named as her replacement.
Ama Kanchana, an experienced bowler, has been called up for the first time since the Commonwealth Games.
Sri Lanka is in Group A with New Zealand, Bangladesh, South Africa, and the defending champions, Australia. They begin their campaign on February 10 against the tournament hosts, South Africa.
