Sunrisers Hyderabad have roped in Brian Lara as their strategic advisor and batting coach ahead of the IPL 2022, and Dale Steyn as bowling coach.
The Sunrisers finished at the bottom of the points table in 2021. Halfway through the season, they dropped captain David Warner from the side altogether, appointing Kane Williamson captain instead. They have already sacked head coach Trevor Bayliss, who is succeeded by Tom Moody.
Other than Steyn and Lara, Simon Katich will also join them as assistant coach. Katich was the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore but did not turn up for the UAE leg owing to personal reasons.
Hemang Badani has been named as fielding coach, while Muttiah Muralitharan will continue to remain the spin-bowling coach.
