Deep Dasgupta, the cricketer-turned commentator believes Suresh Raina will rejoin the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). Raina, who has been a consistent performer for the Chennai-based franchise, earlier pulled out of tournament due to ‘personal reasons’ and since then there has been a lot speculative stories in the media regarding his future in the MS Dhoni-led team.

However, according to Dasgupta’s theory, since CSK haven’t announced a replacement yet, so perhaps internally the management is optimistic about Raina’s return in the squad.  Though, even if the left-hander returns to UAE, he will miss initial few games due to quarantine norms, imposed by the local authorities.

I have a feeling that Suresh Raina will be back playing the IPL. He might miss out on the first few games because of the quarantine rules and all but I have a feeling that Suresh will be back,” Dasgupta told ESPNCricinfo. “I won’t be surprised if they don’t pick a replacement for Suresh.

On the other hand, Raina too has not yet ruled out the chances of his return to UAE to play the IPL.

“I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again,” he told Cricbuzz.

Meanwhile, another CSK’s star Harbhajan Singh too has pulled out of IPL 13 citing personal reasons.
