India's middle order mainstay, Suryakumar Yadav has retained his No. 1 position in the latest ICC T2O rankings, which were released on Wednesday.
Suryakumar has a rating of 910 points after scoring 47 runs in the first match of India's current series against New Zealand in Ranchi, as the exciting right-hander maintained his healthy lead at the top of the T20I batters rankings.
While the Indian batter bowled a more composed unbeaten 26 in the second match of the series, the 32-year-rating old's dropped to 908 points. He will have another chance to improve his record in the series' third and final match on Wednesday in Ahmedabad.
Suryakumar's current rating points put him within striking distance of England batter Dawid Malan in the race for the highest rating for Men's T20I batters of all time.
Malan had a rating of 915 points in Cape Town in 2020, but Suryakumar now has the second-highest T20I batter rating of all time thanks to his recent heroics with the willow.
Meanwhile, Surya's teammate Washington Sundar jumped to 104th place. New Zealand's Finn Allen (up eight spots to 19th) and Daryl Mitchell (up nine spots to 29th) have also risen in the latest rankings update.
Yuzvendra Chahal of India has risen six places to 34th in the T20I bowling rankings, while Kuldeep Yadav has risen 54 places to 81st. Mitchell Santner of New Zealand is in the top 10, while Michael Bracewell has risen from 58th to 37th.
