Karnataka will face Vidarbha in the second semi-final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, on 20 November at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Vidarbha are still undefeated in the tournament. They won all five matches of the group stage before defeating Rajasthan by nine wickets in the quarter-final. They restricted Rajasthan to 84/8 before chasing down in just 14.5 overs. Yash Thakur picked up two wickets, while Akshay Karnewar conceded just seven in his four overs. Ganesh Satish, who replaced Siddesh Wath as opener, is likely to retain his place.
Karnataka, meanwhile, defeated Bengal in the Super Over. Manish Pandey smashed a six off the second ball to take them across the finishing line. Earlier, Karun Nair slammed 55 in 29 balls. However, their strike bowlers, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Vidyadhar Patil, were quite expensive in the last game.
