TKR Women's Team Gains Indian Stars & Legendary Mentor

Indian cricket stars Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey join TKR Women's team for WCPL 2024, guided by mentor Jhulan Goswami.

The Trinbago Knight Riders have made significant moves ahead of the Women's Caribbean Premier League 2024 by signing notable Indian talents, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey. Joining the roster is the legendary former Indian fast bowler, Jhulan Goswami, not as a player but as a mentor for the TKR Women's team.

Goswami expressed her excitement at the opportunity, citing the franchise's success in India and globally as a motivating factor for her involvement.Goswami, who holds the title of India's leading wicket-taker in women's internationals, currently serves as the bowling coach and mentor for the Mumbai Indians in the Women's Premier League. Her venture with Trinbago Knight Riders marks her first stint in an overseas T20 league, adding a new dimension to her illustrious career.

Under the leadership of former West Indies allrounder Deandra Dottin, TKR has bolstered its squad with the inclusion of top players like Jemimah Rodrigues, Shikha Pandey, Meg Lanning, and Jess Jonassen. These signings, particularly the addition of Goswami as a mentor, are expected to elevate the team's performance to new heights.

CEO Venky Mysore expressed his delight at having a cricketing legend like Jhulan Goswami on board, emphasizing the invaluable mentorship she will provide to the young talents in the team. The Women's Caribbean Premier League 2024, scheduled from August 21 to 29, will feature TKR, Barbados Royals, and Guyana Amazon Warriors, promising an action-packed competition at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
