India will take on Bangladesh in the finale of Under-19 World Cup 2020 on Sunday. While Bangladesh will be highly spirited to play their first ever final, India will have the task of defending their title. As always, Indian team is studded with some of the finest young cricketers of the country and few of them will have major roles in tomorrow’s clash.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of the most promising talents of Indian cricket. He recently became the youngest to score a List-A double hundred and also went to the Under-19 World Cup as India’s biggest strength. As expected, he has delivered a good show and currently comfortably sits at the top of the most runs table of the tournament with 312 runs from five matches. He started with a brilliant 59 against Sri Lanka and registered at least half-centuries in all matches except the match against Japan where the target was just 42. His best innings came in the semi-final where he along with his opening partner Divyaansh Saxena completed a 10-wicket victory over Pakistan. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 105 and also provided a key breakthrough with his occasional leg-break. In the Final, no doubt a lot of responsibilities will be on Jaiswal who needs to give a good start and ideally play a big innings.

Ravi Bishnoi

Indian cricket is well known for producing great spinners in different times and at various levels. In this tournament as well India have found another crafty leg-spinner in Ravi Bishnoi. Hailing from Rajasthan, Bishnoi depends on his control and is able to produce brilliant googly time to time to confuse the batters. He is currently the fourth highest wicket taker of the Under-19 World Cup with 13 scalps at an average of 11.61 and economy of 3.59. So far, he has two four-wicket hauls in the tournament, a mesmerizing 4/5 against Japan and another match winning 4/30 against New Zealand. In the Final, Bishnoi will be facing Bangladesh who are expected to handle spin bowling better but the young lad has enough maturity to take control of the middle overs and pick up wickets at important stage of the match.

Kartik Tyagi

Unlike some of its predecessors this Indian Under 19 squad consists of many unknown faces who are keen to make a name for themselves with their performance against some of the fancied opponents. A youthful fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh Kartik Tyagi is one such star who has impressed greats of the game with his talent. Tyagi’s first over against Australia in the quarter-final where he picked up three key wickets will be remembered by the Indian cricket fans for a long. His opening blast of 4/24 in that fixture helped India defend a below par total with ease. Overall, Tyagi has taken 11 wickets at an average of 10.90 and economy of 3.49. He managed to get wickets in each match of tournament and his ability to swing the ball was praised by both critics and fans. India’s hope of defending their crown needs Kartik Tyagi to produce a fiery opening spell.
