At the Carter Road Amphitheater in this city, 5000 red cricket balls were used to pay tribute to the former India captain as thousands of supporters celebrated Virat Kohli's birthday on Saturday.
The enthusiastic supporters worked tirelessly for nine hours, starting at 8:00 am, to paint a 20-by-20-foot mural of Kohli's face with muralist Gurseet Singh. The top sportswear company, PUMA, organised the original birthday homage.
"A modern-day cricket legend, Virat Kohli holds a particular place in the hearts of his supporters. He serves as an example for both the game's army of fans and the professionals that work there. We made an effort to gather them all and organise a special birthday celebration for one of this generation's most complete batsmen, "PUMA India and Southeast Asia's managing director, Abhishek Ganguly, stated.
But the presence of Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli's youth coach, was said to have made the celebration even more memorable, according to a statement on Saturday.
"I would undoubtedly send it to Virat as well since it is fantastic and extremely imaginative from team PUMA. It makes me feel incredibly proud to see him get so much affection "In the press release, Rajkumar Sharma was quoted as saying.
Inspirational sprinter Bhagwani Devi, 94, footballers Glan Martins and Anwar Ali, cricketer Anuj Rawat, and swimmer Srihari Nataraj were among the other athletes in attendance. Ishaan Khatter, a fan of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, also attended the all-day party.
In order to allow fans to show their love and appreciation for the batsman, PUMA also activated some of its major stores around the nation with Virat Kohli-themed engagements.
As part of the Virat's tribute birthday celebration week, tattoo artists, hair stylists, and face painters will pamper fans with Kohli-inspired tattoos, haircuts with VK initials, one-of-a-kind face paint, and more at the PUMA locations through November 12.
