Mumbai posted 457/4 against Puducherry in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur. This is the fourth-highest score in the history of List A cricket and the highest on Indian soil. The top three instances all came on English soil. Surrey had scored 496/4 against Gloucestershire at The Oval in 2007. Then, on 19 June 2018, two more sides crossed the 450-run mark: England got 481/6 against Australia (in an ODI) at Trent Bridge in 2018, and India A piled up 458/4 against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

Mumbai captain Prithvi Shaw batted through the innings, slamming 227 not out in 152 balls. Shaw’s score has been surpassed only six times in history, by Ali Brown (268), Rohit Sharma (264, in an ODI), D’Arcy Short (257), Shikhar Dhawan (248), Martin Guptill (237 not out, in an ODI), and Ben Dunk (229 not out).

Shaw had slammed a 90-ball 132 when India A had scored 458/4 in 2018. He added 201 for the third wicket with Suryakumar Yadav (133 in 58) in a mere 103 balls.
