Semi-final 1, Himachal Pradesh v Services
Himachal Pradesh 281/6 in 50 overs (Dhawan 84; Bahadur 2-52) beat Services 204 in 46.1 overs (Paliwal 55; Dhawan 4-27) by 77 runs.
Rishi Dhawan starred with both bat (84) and ball (4-27) to help Himachal Pradesh beat Services by 77 runs in the first semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021/22 in Jaipur.
Riding on Dhawan’s 77-ball stay, assisted by Prashant Chopra’s 78 and Akash Vasisht’s unbeaten 29-ball 45, Himachal Pradesh posted 281/6 after being asked to bat. Then Dhawan, Sidharth Sharma (2-34) and Vasisht (2-28) shared eight wickets to bowl out Services for 204 in 46.1 overs. Rajat Paliwal (55), Ravi Chauhan (45) and Devender Lochab (34) were the only Services batters to score in excess of 15.
Semi-final 2, Saurashtra v Tamil Nadu
Saurashtra 310/8 in 50 overs (Jackson 134; Vijay 4-72) lost to Tamil Nadu 314/8 in 50 overs (Aparajith 122; Sakariya 5-62) by 2 wickets with 0 balls to spare.
Tamil Nadu chased down 311 against Saurashtra, winning off the last ball of the innings in the second semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021/22. Baba Aparajith (122) and Washington Sundar (70 in 61 balls) starred with bat for Tamil Nadu, while Baba Indrajith also scored a 58-ball 50. Chetan Sakariya's 5-62 went in vain.
Earlier, Saurashtra rode on Sheldon Jackson’s 125-ball 134 to pile 310/8 after being put in. Vishvaraj Jadeja made 52 and Arpit Vasavada a 40-ball 57. Vijay Shankar and Ragupathy Silambarasan shared seven wickets from their 20 overs, but conceded 126.
