Sarfaraz Khan, a cricketer for Mumbai, missed Sunday's Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Services because he had to be hospitalised in Ranchi after becoming suddenly ill.

The 25-year-old batsman was required to spend the night in the hospital, which prevented him from playing on Sunday, according to a Cricbuzz report. Mumbai was defeated by Services in the game.

"He has been dealing with kidney stones for a while, which is a small but uncomfortable condition. He experienced severe pain as a result, and he needed to be taken to the hospital. He is now fine "Cricbuzz cited Naushad Khan, Sarfaraz's father, as saying.

Sarfaraz will reportedly be available for Mumbai's upcoming match against state rival Maharashtra.

Sarfaraz missed the team's second Vijay Hazare Trophy encounter against Services at Metallurgical and Engineering Consultant Limited Sail Stadium, Ranchi, when Mumbai failed to defend 264 despite scoring a match-winning innings of 36 in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final in Kolkata. Services triumphed easily, taking eight wickets.

Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube, the Ajinkya Rahane-led team's other two internationals, are also absent. Iyer is with the Indian team in New Zealand, whilst Dube was just ruled ineligible for the Vijay Hazare event after suffering an injury while bowling. In his place, Khizer Dafedar was seized.

"Sarfaraz should be in good physical condition. He spent one night in the hospital as a precaution, but we are confident that he will play on Thursday "A team representative said.
