Virat Kohli, a player for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and a former captain of India, is rumoured to have unfollowed Sourav Ganguly, a coach for Delhi Capitals (DC) and a former BCCI president, on Instagram.

It took place the day after RCB defeated DC by 23 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. DC's coach didn't shake hands with Kohli after the game.

After DC head coach Ricky Ponting stopped the RCB batter during the customary post-game handshakes, Ganguly was seen in a video from Saturday's game jumping the line to avoid shaking hands with Kohli.

Notably, Kohli was fired as the ODI team captain after relinquishing his T20I captaincy during Ganguly's tenure as BCCI president.

A week later, during India's tour of South Africa in 2021, Kohli made the startling admission that there had been no communication between him and the selection committee regarding the change in ODI leadership and that he had been informed hours before the selection meeting for the Test series that he would not be the captain.

Ganguly's claim that the selectors had contacted him over the captaincy issue was refuted by Kohli.
