Alex Hales (60* off 24) smashed an 18-ball fifty to guide Nottinghamshire climb to the top of the North Group with a 10-wicket win over Worcestershire at Trent Bridge. Hales hit two sixes and 11 fours in his innings.

Earlier, Samit Patel (4-1-4-3) and Jake Ball (3-17) helped Notts restrict Worcestershire to 86/8. They only managed two fours in 20 overs. Hales and Joe Clarke (26* off 14) then reached the target in just 6.2 overs.

Gloucestershire vs Kent, Bristol

Kent 147/7 in 20 overs (Crawley 43; Smith 2-17) lost to Gloucestershire 149/2 in 13.4 overs (Phillips 41*; Milnes 1-15) by 8 wickets with 38 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Glenn Phillips.

South Group leaders Kent suffered an eight-wicket defeat to Gloucestershire at Bristol. Zak Crawley (43 off 29) and Jordan Cox (36* of 28) were the only Kent batters to score in excess of 20 before in an innings of 147/7. Daniel Worrall (2-33) and Tom Smith (2-17) claimed two wickets each.

Coming to chase, Miles Hammond (33 off 16) and Chris Dent (37 off 21) gave Gloucestershire a blistering start, scoring 80 in 6.4 overs. Ian Cockbain scored a quickfire 30 before having to retire hurt with an ankle injury. Glenn Phillips (41* off 25) then ensured his side past the finishing line with 38 balls to spare.

Derbyshire v Leicestershire, Derby

Leicestershire 174/8 in 20 overs (Kimber 53; Hudson-Prentice 3-36) beat Derbyshire 132 in 18.4 overs (Carne 40; Naveen-ul-Haq 2-17) by 42 runs. Player of the Match: Louis Kimber.

After losing five games on the trot, Leicestershire made it two wins out of two following their 42-run win over Derbyshire.

Despite Scott Steel’s 34-ball 46, Leicestershire were left reeling on 80/5 in 11 overs. Colin Ackermann (37) and Louis Kimber (53 off 28) then added 71 for the sixth wicket before they closed on 174/8.

Luis Reece (19 off 12) and Harry Came (40 off 31) shared a 70-run opening stand before Callum Parkinson (2-23) bowled Came in the eighth over. But from 83/2, Derbyshire were soon reduced to 92/6.

Brooke Guest hit a 15-ball 27, but did not get enough support. Derbyshire were bowled out for 132 in 18.4 overs.

Sussex v Glamorgan, Hove

No play was possible between Sussex and Glamorgan in Hove due to persistent rain.
