Want to create some great moments for retiring Jhulan on England tour: Harmanpreet Image

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the India women's cricket team, stated that the group would like to provide some "wonderful moments" for Jhulan Goswami, a retiring speed bowler who is anticipated to play her final match at Lord's on September 24.

The veteran India cricketer Mithali Raj announced her retirement in June, after an illustrious 23-year career. The 39-year-old Jhulan will now follow Raj into retirement.

The last match of the three-match white-ball series between India and England is slated to take place at Lord's on September 24. The match will consist of three T20Is and then an equal number of ODIs.

Harmanpreet, who replaced Mithali as captain, said she is considering giving Jhulan a proper send-off. Jhulan led India when Harmanpreet made her international debut in March 2009.

Harmanpreet was reported by the ICC as stating, "She (Jhulan) was the captain when I made my debut and it is a tremendous opportunity for me to lead the last ODI she plays." We'll work to make sure she has some memorable experiences so she can carry them with her.

Jhulan, who holds numerous records, has so far participated in 12 Tests, 201 ODIs, and 68 T20Is. In women's cricket, she is the only bowler with more than 200 ODI wickets. She would hope to increase her current tally of 252 kills during the next three-match ODI series against England and end her illustrious career on a strong note.

A player of Jhulan's calibre, according to Harmanpreet, "is a tremendous example for all of us" and is irreplaceable.

Nobody can match her (Jhulan's) attitude toward the squad and desire to win every game, according to Harmanpreet. She was leading from the front when I joined the team, and I have picked up leadership skills from her.

"Nobody can step into her shoes. In her early years, she put in a lot of effort, and I have not noticed any changes in the way she trains now "Added Harmanpreet.

"She bowls for two to three hours, which is uncommon. She is a wonderful role model for all of us. Many people have begun to playfully stare at her. Even I observed her pregame routine and beforehand frame of mind and took notes from her. I consider myself fortunate to have met, interacted with, and seen her."
