Michael Clarke's replacements for commentary will be Mark Waugh, Mitchell Johnson, and Aaron Finch during Australia's upcoming tour of India.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Clarke, Australia's 2015 ODI World Cup winning captain, was passed over by the BCCI after a video of his altercation with his girlfriend went viral on social media.
According to the report, Waugh will join Matthew Hayden as the Australian commentator for the first two Tests of the series, which will be played for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Nagpur (February 9-13) and New Delhi (February 17-21).
Clarke had previously stated that he had been approached by the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which ends on March 22, to be a commentator for them after losing the opportunity to commentate on the tour of India.
According to the report, the touring Australia Test team, which is scheduled to depart for India on Tuesday, January 31, will spend five days in Bengaluru training before the first Test in Nagpur. It went on to say that Bengaluru has been chosen as the best practise venue for the visiting Australians ahead of the four-match series.
"We are very confident and at ease with the preparations that the BCCI has made for us. Obviously, the proof will be in the pudding, but we're very comfortable with the discussions we've had. They see value in seeing us prepare as well for a marquee Test series as we do when foreign teams visit "Cricket Australia's head of cricket operations, Peter Roach, was quoted in the report.
The series against Australia is crucial for India because a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, which will be held in June 2023, is at stake.
